Legal Update
In Person!
8:00am-8:30am: Registration/networking. Meeting 8:30am -10:15am
Session Overview
HR’s attention over the last several years has primarily been focused on adapting to continuing COVID-related workplace changes, leaving little time to keep up with developments in other areas. This fast-paced and interactive legal update will give attendees an overview of important developments over the past year and a look at what we can expect in the near future. Topics covered in this interactive session will include:
Continuing COVID-related issues and guidance
The future of remote/hybrid work
Leaves of absence (recent cases, accommodation issues, the interplay of types of leave)
NLRA/NLRB update (recent cases and how the new Democratic majority may affect workplace policies)
State and federal legislative updates (recently enacted legislation as well as proposed legislation to watch)
Mental health issues in the workplace
Diversity and inclusion and unconscious bias in the workplace
Some takeaways for attendees will be:
1. Stay updated on significant changes in the workplace in the pandemic and post pandemic HR world.
2. Planning ahead for 2023 – what employers need to do.
